Shamanic Vision

Healing Visions

Buddha Vision

In my work I experience shamanic vision while in conscious trance, brought on through meditation or by rhythmical drumming. In this state I will often receive images of animals, plants, people or things from the natural world. I then follow these images as they develop, focusing on where my attention is drawn. The vision may play out as an event or a story, with my attention drawn to a particular character or place; or the vision may simply be of an animal engaged in an activity that has a unique energy useful for the work of the moment.

When healing is directed towards specific parts of a client's body I may receive clear images of how the wounding or blockage occurred or its particular nature, thus guiding me in the healing process. Other times I am invited to drum, chant and sing the song of the animal or event that I see, watching it develop as the rhythm, pitch and volume changes.

Here is a sample of drumming while I travel to the spirit world, arriving at the place of healing about 2:45 into the recording:

Spiritual Sight

Priest in trance

I also experience shamanic vision in the sense of "seeing" energy. This is not a seeing with the eyes but is the natural and trained ability to see beyond the physical and into our nature as energy beings. A healing session will often begin with an assessment of what energy patterns I see in the client's energy body and then seeking adjustment of these so that spiritual energy can flow through the client. It is when this flow of energy can proceed more freely that we make real progress on our spiritual path.

The seeing of energy is not confined to the human body. I use my shamanic sight to see the entities and spiritual beings who manifest during a healing session and to follow the energy patterns that are generated in the sacred space of the healing room.

All physical spaces have their particular concentration of energies, positive and negative, and shamanic sight can be used to reveal these. With this knowledge, and following the intuitive and spontaneous guidance that arises, a physical space can be lightened or cleared resulting in a living or working environment that is more beneficial to us.

Client Visions

Clients will sometimes also experience their own visions while I am working with them, particularly in response to the use of drum and chant. Clients can have varying reactions to what they see, the visions sometimes evoking strong emotions, perhaps tears or laughter, and at other times a great sense of beauty or calm can be experienced. Clients may have recurring themes or visions in ongoing sessions, deepening their connection with these insights into shamanic work and the spirit world and assisting them to develop and heal as they get on with their daily life.
